IRON GATE CHAPTER
AIR FORCE ASSOCIATION
EDUCATE ADVOCATE SUPPORT
The Iron Gate Chapter was chartered in September 1961 to maintain an Air Force presence in New York City after the closing of Mitchel Field. Iron Gate has since contributed nearly Three-Million-Dollars to Aerospace Education, and we are now preparing for the celebration of our Golden Anniversary in 2011.
The Iron Gate Chapter meets for luncheon meetings in the 21 Club, at 21 West 52nd Street, New York City, where three times a year members and guests are updated on Air Force operations by a General Officer. Each speaker is honored with the award of a Jimmy Doolittle Educational Fellow, accompanied by a $1,000.00 contribution to the Air Force Association for Aerospace Education. Support also goes to the Falcon Foundation, the Air Force Aide Society, the USO , the Soldiers, Sailors, Marines and Airmens Club and a joint AFA USA Today Aerospace Education program. A fourth event is held to honor the outstanding achievement of a chapter member or a service member.
